The Business Systems Analyst III – Innovation Product Management is responsible for guiding products throughout the RTS Innovation process from ideation, prototyping, business justification, implementation and product launch. Develop innovative solutions to some of the industry's challenging problems by collaborating as needed across regions, product areas, and functions.

Collaboration will be key to bringing innovative industry-changing products to market as part of the RTS Innovation Team. The Business Systems Analyst III – Innovation Product Management will partner closely with business stakeholders, customers, creative designers, and expert full stack software engineers to help design and develop products that will successfully differentiate RTS. Applying the Design Thinking methodology, the role is tasked with working with Business Stakeholders to define customer personas and understand “as-is” customer journeys to identify pain points. The Business Systems Analyst III – Innovation Product Management must understand markets, competition and user requirements in depth. Additionally, the role is required to document user stories that translate business needs for User Experience Designer and Software Developers to rapidly implement. Launch new products and features, test their performance, and iterate quickly.
The Business Systems Analyst III - Innovation Product Management role will ensure products move rapidly through the process by applying modern methodologies and principles including Design Thinking, Business Model Canvas, Agile and Lean Startup. The Business Systems Analyst III – Innovation Product Management will work cross-functionally to guide products from ideation to launch by connecting the business and technical worlds.

Requirements Elicitation - Ability to identify a desired future state that addresses a business problem.

  • Configure and administer products like collaboration, file sharing, imaging and workflow tools
  • Strong knowledge of metadata usage and search efficiencies

Design for Usability - Ability to translate business requirements into business solutions for end-user adoption and productivity improvement.

  • Incorporate usability and User Interface (UI) efficiencies into business solutions

  • Effectively convey the business preferences and functional design to the technical teams
  • Ensure end-to-end service performance from the end user's perspective

Functional Design - Ability to translate business requirements to functional designs using analysis and design techniques.

  • Understand functional design specifications

  • Create functional design specifications for low to high complexity solutions

Adherence to Standards - Ability to create solutions that adhere to and incorporate RTS standards.

  • Obtain key inputs from Enterprise Architecture groups to ensure compliance and exception management
  • Adhere to project management methodology Can identify commonalities and suggest a consistent approach across projects
  • Identify opportunities for creating reusable enterprise services

Business Requirements Testing and Validation - Managing traceability of business requirements through testing and validation process.

  • Ensure that business and non-business requirements have been met through testing and validation
  • Develop effective use cases to test solution to business requirements
  • Document validation results are as expected
  • Develop reusable test case suite
  • Execute functional testing, validation, system and integration testing, and validation of proposed solution
  • Work with stakeholders on evaluating coverage of test cases
  • Ensure the coverage is appropriate for business solution
  • Facilitate and coordinate end-to-end system integration of proposed solution

User Acceptance Testing - Collaborates with stakeholder in testing for acceptance of end user business solution.

  • Build user acceptance test cases
  • Coordinate testing with end user
  • Provide clarification on basic questions of solution testing
  • Train end-users on business solution
  • Incorporate customer feedback into delivery of service to provide the best experience possible for the customer
  • Monitor testing of business solution

Business Relationship Management - Ability to engage business sponsors and contribute to their targeted business outcomes.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology or business related field required.  MS or MSA in a technology or business related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of business systems analyst experience required.
  • 5+ years of Technical Product Management experience (i.e. creating strategic product roadmap(s) from conception to launch and working with cross-functional teams) required.
  • Experience driving the product vision, go-to-market strategy, and design discussions required.
  • Experience leading small, cross functional teams in a matrix organization required
  • Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction required
  • Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as Product Management, Engineering, UX/UI, Sales, Customer Support, Finance or Marketing required
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience developing Internet products and technologies required. 2+ years of Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Metals industry experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, at all levels including customers, vendors, technology peers, business stakeholders and executive management required
  • Proficiency with modern technology work collaboration, agile and communication tools – Skype, Chat, WebEx, JIRA, Slack, Box, MSFT Teams, MSFT 365, Trello, VersionOne, PivotalTracker, etc. required
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and is capable of creating/implementing system functionality
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and databases
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of internet and client/server architectures
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML and XML
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
