CDL Truck Driver (Req 10-3)

Reliance is a steel center; the main focus of this job is being able to properly operate a Commercial Vehicle, (CMV) as well as knowing how to properly secure a load on a flatbed trailer. Must understand all the requirements per the FMCSA

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect/Check each load against load paperwork and correct any problems prior to leaving Reliance
• Properly secure load prior to leaving work site and after each delivery
• Tarp loads whenever required in inclement weater, 48' trailer
• Must be able to clim into truck and/or onto trailer with ease in a safe manner
• Must be able to throw tie down chains/straps over load to secure load
• Must be able to pull securement binders, this might include bending
• Drive to each customer included on load paperwork and be sure the proper material is unloaded
• Pick up material as instruceted and complete all reuired paperwork
• Call the Shipping Office when deliveries are complete or when problems are encountered
• After completing deliveries and returning to work site, match all Bills of Landing to Work Orders and turn in daily 
• Complete Daily Log Books and Trip Sheets daily
• Work 40-60 hours per week as determined by supervisor
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Make deliveries in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming
• Lay over for 1 night when needed at Reliance espense
• Making sure all material is off your trailer at night, all tarps are folded
• Work in warehouse assisting other departments, this includes helping load and 2nd drops
• Make sure needed truck repairs are completed thru maintenance vendors

• Must have a valid Utah CDL Driver License
• Must have a clean driving record
• Must have knowledge of all regulations pertaining to operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle based on the FMCSA
• Read, write and understand English
• Basic communication skills for dealing with customers, vendors, and other employees
• Basic knowledge of steel products is a plus but not a requirement
• 1-2 years of experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
