Responsibilities

Perspecta is seeking to fill a critical role for a Geospatial Analyst for ourFort Belvoir, Virginiaoffice.

  • The Geospatial Analyst is responsible for conducting all-source analytic production to provide full spectrum GEOINT to discover, research, analyze, and deliver direct intelligence support to the military, policymakers, and the Intelligence Community.
  • Applies intelligence analytical tradecraft practices to conduct geospatial analysis of objects, networks, and persons using geospatial tools, methodologies, spatial-temporal data, imagery, social and physical sciences.
  • Exploits imagery, vector, and other data types to include non-geospatially correlated data to locate, identify, and map objects in the spatial domain.
  • Works with cartographers in the production of a variety of geospatial products in compliance with associated specifications and client supplied requirements.
  • Provides analysis on terrain mapping, route planning, and maritime geospatial activity.
  • Responsibilities include extracting and/or acquiring geospatial information, derivative information and multi-INT data for analysis, visualization and modeling. Provides situational awareness to analysts and supports operationally focused team members.
  • Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) expertise to develop intelligence reports and products to solve key intelligence questions.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of project data, imagery manipulation (including generation of stereo pairs), ensuring that backups are made of all data on a daily basis, performing in-process quality checks (IQC) on own work and as well as others and generating plots of vector data/contours for QC and display purposes.
  • Requires experience in imagery-based cartography, photo interpretation, photogrammetry and/or other geospatial applications.
  • Utilize GIS tools, databases, and websites to collect, analyze, maintain and store geospatial data to produce reports and graphics.
  • Choose the proper devices and TTPs for capturing, imaging details and the proper software tools to assess this real-time data in machine and human readable form.
  • Analyze and visualize intelligence information from geospatial data from various sources and apply analysis methods to enhance information and solve problems.
  • Add geographic information to intelligence information for use in geographic information systems
  • Provide Geospatial support to Information Operations support for briefings, planning teams, working groups, and events.
  • Write reports and give briefs; coordinate and synchronize Information Operations related capabilities.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelors Degree in computer science engineering, geography or have done a specialization course in relevant science like cartography.
  • 10+ years or more of active duty military, civilian or contractor performance experience working in Information Operations.
  • 8+ years experience in conducting analysis and open source research supporting DoD or IC customer.
  • 8+ years of experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools and techniques and working with a broad range of GIS data formats
  • 8+ years of experience using Cartographic techniques, imagery exploitation software, computer technology, and the latest GIS equipment.
  • 8+ years of experience using Environmental System Research Institute (ESRI) products developing applications in Aeronautical Reconnaissance Coverage (ARC) GIS using ArcObjects or MapObjects; modeling with ArcSDE (Spatial Database Engine); GIS Server or ArcIMS (Internet Map Server) site development, implementations and maintenance.
  • 8+ years of leadership experience supporting open source research and strong proficiency in IO Planning
  • 8+ years of experience in conducting analysis and open source research supporting DoD or IC customer with at least a portion of the experience within the last two years.

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving, presentation skills, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with team lead to prioritize tasks
  • Well-rounded working knowledge of IT concepts and best practices
