Required Education

Must have sophomore standing academically, or the equivalent of two semesters of academic work and be enrolled full-time in classes during the academic year.
A minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA at the beginning of your appointment.
Specifically, UAs must have completed 2 semesters of Calculus courses with As or Bs. Credit for such courses from a 4 or 5 on the AP calculus exam is sufficient.

Sitting/standing for extended periods.

Shift

Each UA job requires maintaining regular hours.
Mathskeller and in class hours range between 9am-5pm.

MathExcel assistants work with a fixed class for three 90 minute sessions per week.

Job Summary

Undergraduate Assistants (UAs) will have some combination of 3 main types of responsibilities. You will keep roughly 5 regular hours of work per week.
1. Assisting in an assigned classroom with a professor. UAs will help in large lectures to distribute worksheets, advise group work and may be responsible for grading work that does not exceed 10% of a final course grade.
2. Tutor in the Mathskeller. UAs will sign up for multiple hour-long shifts in the Mathskeller. The UA is expected to both help tutor the 100- level courses as well as help operate the Mathskeller alongside Faculty and TAs.
3. Help proctor common hour exams at night during exam weeks.
You must submit an academic transcript and a resume for your application to be considered.
