    • The Clinical Perfusionist is a skilled member of the health care team who is qualified by academic and clinical training to provide patient perfusion services under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Cardiac Perfusionist is under the direct and indirect supervision of the Cardiac or attending physician. The Cardiac Surgeon or Supervising Physician will hold ultimate clinical responsibility for Supervision of the Clinical Perfusionist.
    • Licenses and Certifications Required
      • Board eligible or certified (recertified) by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion, Inc.
      • BLS certification required within orientation period.
    • Educational Requirements
      • Graduate of a Cardiovascular Perfusion Training Program accredited by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or admitted to the examination process before April 15, 1981, as evidenced by licensure.
    • Experience Requirements
      • None
    • Special Skills or Training Requirements
      • Applicant must have completed an orientation to the policies and procedures that cover the clinical areas in which he/she works.
