Job Summary

Mikhail Koffarnus in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Kentucky is seeking a full-time postdoctoral fellow to primarily work on NIAAA-funded research using remote alcohol monitoring with smartphone-based technologies to facilitate abstinence reinforcement with an underserved population. With this line of work, and in close collaboration with a regional hospital system, we are developing a mobile platform for alcohol use treatment that uses mobile technology to facilitate treatment delivery. Responsibilities related to this project include ensuring that the protocol is executed correctly on a daily basis. This fellow will also work with the research assistants in a supervisory role on the collection of data, issuing payments, and conducting intake and assessment sessions.
The fellow will also be an integral member of the Healthier Futures Lab (HealthFuL), a collaborative team broadly focused on research involving the intersection of behavioral economics and addiction processes. We also conduct research on the abuse liability of drugs, tobacco regulatory science, smoking cessation, and functional magnetic resonance imaging. The fellow will also be given the opportunity and support to develop supplementary studies that further and complement the overarching goals of the lab, and will be encouraged to publish and present their research findings.
