Defense

The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions.


Responsibilities

Candidates must demonstrate experience in managing/mentoring personnel on programs/contracts of similar size and scope, as responsibilities will include:


Shaping and implementing strategies that will help develop and retain high-performing employees. This includes working with and directing all talent management activities with task order PMs, subcontractor leads, and assigned HR representatives. Must interact with Government PMs and senior leadership (SES level) when required by the PM to effectively demonstrate our training and retention strategies across the contract.
Design employee training programs, build succession plans and craft internal promotion processes. Must have a solid understanding of full-cycle recruiting along with a strategic mindset in order to develop a skilled workforce.
Help build a talent pipeline that aligns with the needs of the contract and meets business objectives.
Establish relationships with key Technical Colleges / Universities to build an internship/incubator program.
Develop a tactical mentoring program designed to clearly define near term objectives and goals and provide feedback to employees on 90-day cycles versus annually.
Work with the PM and HR to develop performance-based bonuses and other incentive programs.
Track employee engagement metrics, like retention and turnover rates.


Qualifications

Requires BA/BS with 10 years of experience with at least 4 years of management level responsibility. Incumbent has specialized knowledge in at least one area of expertise and a general knowledge in 1-2 other areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources or relevant field
Relevant experience with personnel management on projects of comparable complexity and scope.
Demonstrated experience successfully managing disparately located personnel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with performance management procedures.
Hands-on experience implementing learning and development programs.
Must currently have an active DoD Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated and current experience supporting programs delivering technologically complex solutions.
Additional certifications such as Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
