Responsibilities

This position will work with project managers and stakeholders to create and update custom programs utilized by company-wide non-developers to deliver client services. This position will be responsible for full software development life cycle from needs assessment through development, testing and delivery. Coordinates development and support for new and existing applications and possesses a sound understanding of business systems and industry requirements and may act as a team leader for assigned projects. This position is responsible for the technical leadership, maintenance and management of the companys applications and may also include guidance and mentoring of other development team members.

Essential Functions

  • Performs software development based on functional requirements and defined business processes
  • Attends specification meetings with staff to determine project scope and feasibility
  • Interfaces with end users to resolve problem situations and daily issues, employing a high degree of tact and diplomacy to promote a positive image of the department
  • Design, development and maintenance of databases and other data repositories
  • Full life cycle of responsibility from design through testing, delivery, and maintenance of databases and other repositories including user support
  • Mentors development support staff and may act as team leader for projects
  • May provide back-up supervision in IT Project Managers absence
  • Ensures system enhancements follow the appropriate IT guidelines, meet or exceed user requirements, and are completed in a timely fashion
  • Maintain existing public facing website as well as lead technical design, development, implementation and maintenance of new public facing website
  • May work with programming resources (in house and third party) to ensure development work is completed to specification

May perform some aspects of project management including, but not limited to, approval gathering, readiness assessments, and other artifacts and controls


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience may be substituted for degree
  • A current MCSD/MCPD certification is desirable

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years previous experience supporting and developing custom computer based applications
  • Extensive knowledge and proven history of working with Microsoft NET Framework, C#, ASP.NET, and Visual Studio
  • Extensive knowledge and proven history of working with SQL Server (2008-2019), databases and database optimization
  • Extensive knowledge and proven history of working with internet technologies including HTML, Angular JS and Node JS
  • Experience with Bootstrap UI, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Website design, and NHibernate preferred

Skills

  • Excellent technical troubleshooting, code debugging and problem solving skills for custom built applications and databases
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact with others
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to work on multiple projects/assignments simultaneously
  • Proven leadership, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to work under general supervision in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities

Salary Minimum: $63,689.60 Salary Maximum:$136,177.60 The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the Perspecta salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Perspecta's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
