Job Summary | The Department of Engineering Technology at the University of Kentucky (http://www.engr.uky.edu/et/) seeks candidates for two tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professor level in the area of computer engineering technology. Candidates at the associate professor level or higher will also be considered. This faculty search is focused on identifying qualified candidates with expertise in computer hardware and software applications. Preferred areas of interest are embedded systems and application, wireless communication, digital systems design, electronics prototyping and construction, software engineering processes and methods, signals, systems and transforms, and digital signal processing. Additional consideration will also be given to candidates with expertise that enhances existing department strengths. In all cases, the candidate’s teaching and research focus should have strong computer software and hardware application. The candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computer Engineering Technology or a related discipline. The Department of Engineering Technology (ET) is the newest department in the college of engineering at the University of Kentucky and provides two four-year undergraduate degrees: Lean Systems Engineering Technology and Computer Engineering Technology in a 2 + 2 partnership with the Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC). As such, the ET department only offers junior and senior-level coursework. A successful candidate would shape and grow the new computer engineering technology track, including developing new undergraduate teaching laboratories. The ideal candidate should also have a passion for teaching undergraduates, involving them in significant research projects, and providing service to the Department, professional organizations, and the community.
