Qualifications - Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.

- The Aviation Safety and Compliance Director shall have been an US Military Aviator.
Responsibilities Aviation Safety and Compliance Director (Senior) - The Aviation Safety Officer plans, implements, and coordinates safety and environmental programs in accordance with required regulations, procedures and policies with primary focus on aviation. Facilitates identification of safety and environmental risks and promotes reduction or elimination of potential accidents, occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths and safety-related financial losses. Conducts safety assistance visits and training to ensure implementation of and compliance with safety directives. Shall ensure proper industrial safety procedures are followed in accordance with the contract and appropriate Federal, state, and local regulations, rules, and procedures. Provide administrative support including maintaining all departmental files, records, and publications needed to support organizational activities and to meet customer requirements. Provide written reports which are clear, concise and meaningful for all ground / aviation safety matters. When needed, perform duties as an active member of an aircraft accident board. When needed coordinate first responder duties during an onsite accident. Develop required reports, conduct briefings, safety training, and when directed conduct quarterly safety and semiannual safety stand down meetings. Assist in maintaining accident and incident records, files, and reports. Conduct safety audits, fire extinguish inspections, and inspections of all first aid kits and other safety related equipment. Knowledgeable of OSHA, EPA, FAA, NTSB and other appropriate federal, state and local regulations. Expert knowledge in the technical field of aviation safety and accident prevention and experience in use of DOD, FAA, NTSB, or ICAO documentation is required. The Aviation Safety and Compliance Director shall have been an US Military Aviator.
General duties:Responsible for flying cargo and/or passengers on long or short-haul flights. Operates company-owned aircraft in flight and ensures the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft including crew and passengers. Coordinates with maintenance personnel to analyze and correct aircraft discrepancies ensuring all system are working properly. Responsible for flight planning, which consists of monitoring aircraft performance, altitude, terrain, weather, range, routings, fuel requirements, airport requirements, air traffic control, and FAA regulations, etc. Plans flight assignments and obtains information regarding purpose of the flight, weather, operating procedures and special instructions. Ensures ongoing detailed and effective communications. Maintains appropriate log books and reports. Knowledgeable of the company general operations manual, general maintenance manual, FAA regulations, NTSB procedures, HMR 175, Operations Specifications, Aircraft Flight manuals, and all other material pertinent to duties. Must possess airline transport license with multi-engine and instrument ratings, pass Military Class II physical examination, FAA examinations, and flight proficiency tests. Usually requires an Associates Degree (an additional 4 years of aviation related experience may be substituted for the Associates Degree) and 4+ years of related aviation experience. Graduate of a DOD Flight Training Program and/or hold a FAA Commercial/ATP certificate with Instrument Rating in Category of aircraft being sought. Minimum of 500 Hours Pilot in Command with 100 flight hours logged within the last 12 months. Requires a current FAA Class II Medical Certificate. Previous military pilot experience desired. May be required to meet additional requirements as stipulated in DCMA Instructions 8210.1.
