Better starts and ends with the customer

This new role is vital to Western Unions Diaspora Management Strategy where youll engage with our customers from specific diaspora and work closely with local sales teams to better understand and meet the needs of the diaspora for moving money.

The successful candidate will have existing links within a key diaspora (Morocco, Bangladesh or others) and be able to identify relevant market and customer intelligence, be aware of the field operations of the agent network, and lead community engagement and ethnic store lead generation based on specific diaspora needs. Youll be able to travel to key areas and develop marketing strategies with the wider team that will engage communities and drive growth. Youll be creative and flexible in your approach at times attending specific community events or trade fairs, visiting key agents or trade groups where we might build closer relationships. Youll need to be driven and self-starting but skilled at deploying the support of the local business development, operational and marketing teams.

To be successful in this role you will have related substantial and significant experience in a similar role engaging with specific customer sets directly to drive business growth. Youll have experience of using data to inform marketing decisions and may have a background working within the NGO or fundraising arena. When we meet, youll be able to talk with confidence about relationship building experience and demonstrate effective communication across multiple sectors and varied communities. This is a nuanced role that requires a varied skill set so will very much suit a creative and innovative individual with strong analytical and research skills. The successful candidate will have significant and substantial experience within the target diaspora and be able to demonstrate knowledge of regional nuances and challenges in the money transfer space. Youll also be skilled at languages - English, Italian, Arabic.
