Enterprise Cloud Architects (Western Union, LLC, Denver, CO)
Develop computing strategies, which incorporate cloud adoption plans, cloud architecture, application design, management, and monitoring for the financial services industry.
Architect and develop common libraries/services for use in Cloud applications, implement new features & enhancements to existing common services utilized by other application teams, unit testing the code, defect logging, issues resolution and code reviews.
Work closely with application teams to evaluate and guide the selection of technologies for cloud usage for optimal architecture and cost.
Monitor system performance to detect and resolve problems during deployment and support change management.
Strong emphasis on customer journey, product quality, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and continuous development.
Design layered application, including user interface, business functionality, and database access.
Develop technical & financial domain expertise and apply to solving product challenges. Perform thorough code reviews.
Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and roll out applications with cross- functional impacts.
Demonstrate capabilities in assessing business needs while providing creative and effective solutions in conformance to emerging technology standards.
Minimum Requirements: Requires a Masters or Bachelors degree in Applied Computer Science or related field. Experience is required (3 years with Masters or 5 years with Bachelors) in any Computer Science, IT, or related occupation and must have some experience in each of the following skills: Building enterprise class cloud-based applications that are performant and scalable; Modern programming languages (Java/C++) and design patterns; Computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, OOPs, and OOA/D; Building a microservices based architecture and platform developed and deployed at scale; Creating and consuming RESTful and SOAP based web services; HTTP, XML, JSON, Node JS, JavaScript, NoSQL; Developing data-ingesting applications using an industry standard RDBMS; Agile development methodologies with Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI (Continuous Integration)/CD (Continuous Delivery).

Annual base salary gross: $139,984 to $212,312.55 per year. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Western Union salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidates qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of Western Unions total compensation package for employees.
