Job Summary
This position is only open to students at the University of Kentucky. The Office of LGBTQ* Resources is seeking enthusiastic staff member who assists with general office duties including promotion, preparation and execution of office programs, events and workshops, in addition to participating in regular staff meetings, retreats and trainings.  This individual  serves as students’ first point of contact with our office, as well as ambassadors for LGBTQ programming. Desk staff responsibilities including welcoming and directing guests, answering and directing phone calls, and event promotion. Duties also include scheduling appointments, working with office technology, and maintaining a clean and organized center. Ambassador responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting with marketing tasks such as tabling at special events, serving on student panels, and representing the office during recruitment events.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need to protect our university community including our students, staff, faculty and visitors, the University of Kentucky is requiring COVID-19 vaccination for all new hires prior to starting employment. Therefore, as of October 18, 2021, all new hires prior to their first day of employment must submit appropriate documentation showing, i) completion of the first vaccination against COVID-19, or ii) completion of the full vaccination series against COVID-19, or iii) approved exemption (medical contraindications or a sincerely held religious belief) through the formal exemption process from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. For those employees who have completed the first vaccination against COVID-19 prior to their first day of employment, the second vaccination (if applicable) must be completed following the vaccination recommended schedule to be considered fully vaccinated.

Excellent communication (written and verbal), critical thinking skills, willing to represent the center at events on and off campus
