Qualifications
Requires 2 to 5 years with BS/BA or 0 to 2 years with MS/MA/MBA or 8 to 10 years with no degree.
Requires Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance.
Responsibilities
Develop, upgrade and maintain the analytical and software systems necessary to conduct research into regional ocean modeling and ocean dynamics.
The candidate will develop software to automate computing and sending instructions to ocean sensing objects to guide their movements. These computations are based up a myriad of values including object position and predicted atmosphere and ocean state at a future time.
The candidate must be able to troubleshoot/debug software when unexpected results occur. The software is integrated into a larger software suite which must all work together. Being able work and collaborate with other scientists is imperative.
The candidate will be required to document software and thus, must have good technical writing skills.
Knowledge in guidance of autonomous unmanned vehicles or robotics
Masters or higher-level degree of education with extensive Physics and Mathematics. A knowledge of Physical Oceanography or geophysical fluid flow is a plus.
Programming skills in high-level language in UNIX/LINUX environment, preferably:
Python, C, C++
Must have strong technical writing and communication skills.
Must be a strong team player and work well in a team environment.

Colorado Salary Minimum: $63,523.20 Colorado Salary Maximum:$135,782.40 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
