Qualifications Requires Bachelors degree (in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or related field) or equivalent, and twelve to fifteen years of related experience, advanced degree a plus.
Requires 12 to 15 years with BS/BA or 10 to 13 years with MS/MA or 7 to 9 years with Ph.D.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to analyze and assess a problem, decompose complex issues, and develop solutions and strategies to operational scenarios. Additional qualifications include:
- Background in RF and VSAT
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
- Experience with various development approaches, e.g., agile programming, crowd sourcing, waterfall, etc.
- Applied knowledge of the systems development life cycle, including requirements analysis, documentation development, control gates, and system verification
- Ability to work within and across multi-discipline teams to ensure interfaces are thoroughly defined, properly designed, and correctly implemented
- Familiarity with IC organizations and experience working across multiple organizations within the IC
- Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities Peraton, provides high-end Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to government clients.We are currently seeking a SeniorSystemsEngineer with aRF and VSAT background to providetechnical leadership and supportfora program that delivers a broad range of engineering and scientific services to a national level customer.The Program provides cradle-to-grave engineering support for the definition, design, development, integration, verification, fielding, and eventual termination/disposal of the system and system components.Peraton is looking for team memberswith the depth and breadth to answer complex technical questions across the program.
The candidate will oversee the engineering activities of component system and software developers, verify the capabilities and interfaces of their developed products, integrate the components into a system, support system test and deployment activities, and perform tier-2 support for fielded systems.Thecandidate will interface with clients and other contractors.Communicationis key to success in this position. Background in the following Systems Engineering areas is key to success:
- Participate in the design and definition of system functionality and component interfaces
- Develop system solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the system development life-cycle
- Work with contractor development teams on requirements definition, development, standards, and testing
- Interact with clients on technical matters, often requiring coordinated activity across organization lines
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts
