Responsibilities

The Space/Ground Test Engineer supports System Integration and Test (I&T) management, development of test plans and procedures; preparing and conducting tests; development of software for supporting System I&T; and review, analysis, and documentation of test results. Specific responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive System Test and Evaluation Management Plan (TEMP).
Develop and maintain a System I&T schedule, integrated into the System Integrated Master Schedule.
Verify and validate that the System meets each requirement.
Plan for and execute a System Test Program consistent with a Test Like You Fly philosophy and document all exceptions.
Develop and maintain a System Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM) documenting the plans to verify each requirement in the System Specification.
Perform System-level hardware and software nonconformance and test failure investigation and resolution.
Lead System thread compatibility and performance test including demonstrating all segment compatibility and performance of the communications prior to launch.
Support the segment developers conducting their respective integration and test activities, integrating, installing, verifying, and delivering all functional.
Support the space/ground segment developer testing all external interfaces prior to shipping to the launch site.
Support Operational Test and Evaluation (OT &E) activities, conducted under realistic operational conditions, to determine the system's operational effectiveness and suitability, to include interoperability with external systems.
Participate with and provide information as requested as part of OT &E planning and execution
Facilitate joint interoperability, risk reduction, and prototyping events.
Perform necessary mission assurance activities to ensure successful assembly, integration, and test activities.


Qualifications

Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.

5 years of satellite experience with the verification, validation and testing of space/ground segment/systems engineering environments on ACAT 1 satellite programs
SE&I experience including space/ground architecture, requirements, IV&V, experiments, transition to operations
