I. JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining data within the SAP Plant Maintenance module in conjunction with quality systems, and ensuring efficient and timely processing of the maintenance and calibration workload. This is a hybrid role (split betweenremote/on-site).

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assumes the role of administrator and subject matter expert for the sites Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Responsible for accuracy of database records, maintenance tasks and schedules.
  • Ensure open work orders are tracked and closed in an efficient manner.
  • Maintain SAP data including equipment and functional location masters, cycle driven maintenance plans, inspection lots, Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), forms, and work instructions.
  • Perform work functions in alignment with quality systems such as change controls, deviations, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Participate in applicable SAP enhancement projects.
  • Perform field verification and equipment labeling.
  • Responsible for the work request and corrective work order backlog for assigned work centers.
  • Review and screen work requests to ensure the scope of the work is clearly described, assess priority and requested completion date for realistic goals, and discuss the details of requested work with originating department as necessary.
  • Evaluate current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) impact of systems when planning and scheduling work, openly communicate impact with department management, and ensure consensus for repair.
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, respectful relationship with customers and maintain a positive feedback and customer satisfaction rating.
  • Seek ways to increase operational efficiency and conservation of company resources.
  • Support various site or departmental reporting and tracking initiatives.
  • Maintain maintenance metrics, including staffing and resource analysis.
  • Train users on SAP and other department systems.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling of vendors.
  • Assist with deviation investigations and CAPAs.

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

Required:

  • Proficiency in SAP or other Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • 4-6 years of related experience.
  • High school diploma required, Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Knowledge and application of cGMP principles, US pharmaceutical regulations, and ISO standards.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Personal competencies: self-awareness, integrity, judgment, vision, and adaptability, decision making, coaching.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of management.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills.
  • Proficiency using PC software programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Access, and Visio.
  • Ability to work independently and to identify and resolve problems.

Preferred:

  • SAP Plant Maintenance experience, including purchasing and inventory management.
