Qualifications - Masters Degree and/or 15+ years of experience in the field of User Interface/User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Design Research or Human Centered Design.
- 5 Years of direct UI/UX experience.
- Understanding of 508 Accessibility Standards.
- 2 Years implementing Responsive Web/Design Mobile First Best Practices.
- Proven experience as a UX Practitioner, Product or Web Designer in an Agile software application development environment.
- Possesses an understanding and experience of Lean Startup Principles including their role in Lean Agile and Lean UX.
- Understanding of Human Centered Design.
- Experience with Github, Leankit, InVision, Axure, Sketch or Adobe XD.
- Experience using a Design System and component library that maintains organizational standards and styles in typography, composition, color theory, responsive design and accessibility.
- Understanding of design methodologies and best practices
- Proven experience coordinating with multiple technical teams, business stakeholders, and end users.
- Experience interviewing stakeholders and synthesizing their feedback to uncover patterns and themes.
- Experience prioritizing feedback, creating feature lists and defining a minimum viable product (MVP)
- Experience creating visual artifacts such as story mapping and flow diagrams that help explain complex workflows and process

Responsibilities Peraton is seeking Senior Web Designer who performs as the design champion within a Lean Agile project team. The Peraton USCIS DID(it) Program provides USCIS with Agile development, engineering and maintenance capabilities to sustain its IT systems. DID(it) provides the services of Agile teams that participate in IT development, engineering, and maintenance efforts, including activities necessary to build, upgrade and sustain previously developed systems and applications using Lean processes. The DID(it) team works collaboratively with its government customers and other contractors following a team-based scaled flexible and scalable approach to deliver mission value frequently, cost-effectively, responsively, and with high quality.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for conducting interviews with end users to uncover and clearly understand problem areas, including review and validation of assumptions.
- Responsible to facilitate the synthesis and prioritization of interview findings.
- Design the solutions on paper or in code, with necessary interfaces and interactions that address the insights learned from users.
- Working in a rapid development environment creating prototypes and proof of concept applications.
- Responsible for interacting with Product Managers, Product Owners and the Software Engineering team in a cooperative manner to deliver value.
- Follow software engineering best practices, techniques, and standards.
