SUPERVISOR, FACILITIES PRODUCTION (CANADA)

Emergent BioSolutions is currently seeking a Supervisor, Facilities Production for our Manufacturing, Facilities Support Department at our Winnipeg Site. The successful candidate will have post-secondary education in a related field and 3+ years of relevant experience. We will give consideration to a combination of education/training and relevant work experience. Must have the ability to mentor, coach and engage team members to achieve required results, have excellent organization and communication skills and the ability to follow written and oral instruction and with a strong attention to detail. THE OPPORTUNITY

The Supervisor, Facilities Production supports the production of pharmaceutical products according to the schedule through the maintenance of the clean room environment and associated records to comply with regulatory requirements, current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), and standard operating procedures.

This role works on assignments requiring considerable judgement/initiative and makes recommendations for solutions when needed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees all day-to-day activities within the facilities production area and provide leadership and support to the team.
  • Responsible for making daily adjustments to the planned work schedule, including reassigning tasks as necessary due to emergency or high priority business needs.
  • Responsible for the cleaning and sanitization of equipment and production areas; Waste removal and decontamination.
  • Maintains the inventory of consumables and gowning in the cleanrooms.
  • Responsible for the performance and maintenance of environmental monitoring (EM) and utility sampling programs.
  • Communicates with the various departments to schedule cleaning and sampling activities to ensure production/filling schedules are maintained.
  • Oversees all room interruption documentation and associated activities. Ensures room is commissioned and released according to GXP requirements and in alignment with the Manufacturing schedule.
  • Coordinates and performs equipment movement and setup to facilitate the changeout process.
  • Responsible for the accuracy, continual maintenance, and review of all departmental documentation, including, but not limited to SOPs, logs, and forms.
  • Performs preventative maintenance as assigned (e.g., filter integrity, etc.).
  • Participates in protocols, commissioning and qualification of modified rooms and utilities and provide support as an SME.
  • Monitors and ensure all competency assessments and training are complete and up to date for the Facilities Production team. Ensures scheduled training and competencies are performed; perform review of the departmental training matrix.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
  • Encourages team efficiency while leading by example to achieve department performance metrics and accountabilities.
  • Provides support as a subject matter expert (SME) to various projects and initiatives as required.
  • Applies Operational Excellence and Lean principles (Kaizen, Process Flow, Value Stream Mapping, etc.) to increase efficiencies, reduce stress, and reduce waste.
  • Trains in SAP work order procedures.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field; will give consideration to a combination of education/training and relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience required; previous experience in a regulated environment such as pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience in a supervisory role or demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and engage team members to achieve required results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instruction and with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and coordinate workload by priority.
  • Must be customer service and quality oriented.
  • Flexibility to adapt to and perform shift work.

  • Citizenship/Permanent Resident or Valid Work Permit.
  • Successful Completion of a Criminal Record Check.
  • Medical assessment reqd upon hire
