Systems Engineer - Internet Governance

Qualifications - Analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts/theories for various projects
- Ability to translate requirements into end-to-end designs for systems that involve multiple interfaces and supporting data repositories
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Familiarity with internet standards and technologies
- Working knowledge of Sponsors mission and other stakeholders missions
- Process oriented, conceptually driven, and possess the ability to work collaboratively in a highly technical setting
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience coordinating and working action items to completion
- Organization, collaboration, negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively complete tasks
- Proven ability to multi-task; self-starter
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience exhibiting oral and written communication skills to include giving briefings/presentations, planning and facilitating meetings and providing support for technical documentation
- Critical thinking skills sufficient to make sound and timely recommendations and/or decisions in unique situations, considering alternate actions
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- Minimum of 12 years experience
Desired:
- Minimum of 15 years experience, plus 3+ years of support the sponsor.
Responsibilities The individual selected for this position will support the Sponsors Program Management Office responsible for oversight and secure use of the Internet. This includes providing governance support, requirements triage, facilitation, and other types of Systems Integration support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide technical, consultative, and facilitative support to the Sponsor components governance process and boards
- Manage technical exchange meetings, support ongoing collection and analysis/triage of requirements
- Participate in communicating internet deconfliction way forward to stakeholders and Board applicants
- Participate in the evaluation and identification of Internet policy and training gaps
- Assist in the creation and coordination IT-specific processes of all boards through maintenance of policies and decision-making structures
- Defining and capturing requirements by interacting with stakeholders and subsequently conducting independent research and analysis of information in preparation for meetings. Follow-up to ensure material is ready for review in advance of meeting
- Participate in planning and coordinating program management process activities and leveraging experience to recommend streamlined and efficient business processes, to include developing standard operating procedures and associated documentation
