Responsibilities

This position is for a large contract for the Army, providing leadership and support existing systems, processes, and policies as well as working to implement new technologies and processes in support of the clients mission to provide Intelligence training and technologies to military personnel.

Systems Engineer acts as the technical lead for all hosting tasks, including System Administration, Storage, Backup, and Database services. Supports the implementation of large-scale automated information systems. Designs system architectures to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements and provides for present and future cross functional requirements and interfaces. Develops technical solutions to meet a wide range of business needs. Evaluates technical trends and provides recommendations for technology and architecture to meet business objectives. Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses for management decision-making purposes. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Works with program managers, project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements, and delivers capability using agile methodologies.


Qualifications

  • 3 to 10 years of experience and a BA/BS or MA/MS degree.
  • Performs all functional duties independently.

  • Current TS/SCI clearance

  • May oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

    Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.

    Desired qualifications:

    • Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering Experience and languages.
    • Working knowledge of Software Development Frameworks.
    • Working knowledge in the field of military intelligence

    Desired certifications:- Although certifications are not a job requirement, one or more of the following would be considered strengths:

    INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification at ASEP, CSEP or ESEP level.

    As well as the above formal qualifications, the following attributions or qualities are desired:

    • Analytical, problem solving mindset
    • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
    • Effective Time Management across multiple tasks and priorities
    • Ability to follow processes
    • Strong documentation skills
    • Good communications skills both written and verbal
