Job Summary | The Department of Family & Community Medicine (DFCM) seeks a qualified family physician for the position of Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs to provide direction and innovation in our efforts to grow and transform the clinical experience for our populations served by our clinical enterprise. With several NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Level 3 certified clinics, we serve as leaders at UK HealthCare, a $1.67 billion health system, in its primary care delivery strategy by implementing value-based clinical redesign and population medicine programs. We have aligned our clinical approach to enhance UDS and MACRA quality measures through pre-visit planning, comprehensive nurse assessment, and a care management team involving social workers and RN care managers. We are a national leader in transitional care management and its impact on unnecessary hospital readmission. Our department’s clinical volume includes 92,647 annual visits and 2,411 hospital discharges across our 4 current clinics and 2 hospital services. This position will work alongside the Chair, with consultation of clinical leads, in organizing and coordinating the clinical strategy for DFCM. In addition, this position will manage and direct the clinical operations for the DFCM, which include clinical budgets, enhancing quality and performance measures and programs, clinical appointees and leads, clinical bonus systems, and resource assessment and allocation. The Vice Chair will also support the clinical leaders to ensure goals are achieved and the highest quality of clinical services is maintained. The Vice Chair will be directly involved in recruitment and development of faculty, including supporting faculty in clinical leadership career tracks, participating in the DFCM Faculty Development and Mentoring programs, and leading core DFCM educational symposia and/or lectures on practice management and quality improvement.
